Dimensions and markings

Outdoor hockey uses a rectangular field measuring 91.40 × 55.00 m. The lines are part of the field. The centre line divides the halves; each 23-metre line is actually 22.90 m from its back-line. The circles determine where an attacking touch can qualify a goal.

Goals and penalty spots

Goals stand centrally on the back-lines, outside the field. The penalty spot is 6.40 m from the inner edge of the goal-line. Goals must remain clear of loose equipment: helmets, masks, bottles and towels cannot be stored inside them.
