The basics in 1 minute

The aim

Send the ball over the net so it lands on the opponents’ court, while preventing it from landing on yours. Indoor teams have 6 players.

Scoring

Every rally awards a point. Win 3 sets to take the match: ordinary sets reach 25 points, the deciding set 15, always with a 2-point lead.

Key rules

• A team has up to 3 hits after any block contact.
• The ball must rebound; catching or throwing it is a fault.
• When receiving players win service, they rotate and follow the service order.
