FIFA Quality Programme
IFAB · 2026/27In short
Certification standards for football products, surfaces and technologies.
Quality marks
- FIFA Basic targets affordable minimum performance, accuracy, safety and durability.
- FIFA Quality emphasises durability and safety under extensive use, alongside basic performance and accuracy.
- FIFA Quality Pro focuses on performance, accuracy and safety at the highest playing level.
Testing and eligibility
FIFA-approved independent institutes test against the relevant standard. Some applications have mandatory requirements; elsewhere organisers may build rules around recommendations. FIFA Basic replaces International Match Standard (IMS); previously certified balls and surfaces remain eligible until certification expires.
Independent explanations and translations, not official federation publications. Competition options are labelled separately. Check which options your competition has adopted.
