Padel
The basics in 1 minute
The aim
Work with your partner to send the ball into the opposing court and prevent a legal return. The surrounding walls are part of play after a correct bounce.
Scoring
Points run 15, 30, 40. A standard set is first to 6 games with a margin of 2, normally using a tie-break at 6–6; the event specifies its deciding-point format.
Key rules
- Serve diagonally after bouncing the ball, striking at or below waist height.
- Return the ball before its second bounce; a wall rebound can keep the rally alive.
- A return must first land in the opposing court before hitting its wall or fence.
