The aim

Propel your boat with oars and reach the finish before the other crews. This introduction covers classic rowing in separate lanes.

Scoring

The bow decides the finish. A valid final placing determines the winner; qualifying rounds follow the announced progression system.

Key rules

• Start only on the official signal and follow your assigned lane, keeping your oars inside it.
• Do not interfere with another crew. Follow the umpire’s instructions and stop when ordered.
• Use a compliant boat and safe foot-release equipment; meet the requirements of your age, weight or para class.
