Article 4 — Players and clothing

A team may register up to 12 eligible players and has five on court. A head coach and up to eight accompanying delegation members, including assistant coaches, complete the permitted delegation. Shirt numbers may be 0, 00 or 1–99 and must be unique within the team. Uniforms and specified compression garments must meet the colour rules; jewellery and dangerous equipment are prohibited.

Articles 6–7 — Team responsibilities

The team list goes to the scorer at least 40 minutes before the scheduled start. At least 10 minutes before the start, the coach confirms it and names the starting five. The captain may seek information politely during a dead ball with the clock stopped. Only the head coach or first assistant may stand at a time. The first assistant takes over if the head coach cannot continue.

Article 5 — Injury and bleeding

Officials may stop immediately to protect an injured player. A player unable to continue within approximately 15 seconds, or receiving treatment or assistance, must normally be substituted, unless that would leave fewer than five players. Bleeding must stop and wounds must be securely covered before return. Recovery during a time-out before the substitution signal can allow the player to stay.
