Medical assessment
After a foul, the referee checks safety and decides whether action can resume. A groin foul or eye poke may allow up to 5 minutes for recovery.
Limits
Recovery is not a general break after a legal blow. Medical evaluation and clearance may be needed; coaching during foul time-outs is prohibited.
