Fluorinated products

Fluorinated wax and tuning products containing fluorine are forbidden. A positive pre-start ski control prevents starting; use in competition can lead to disqualification. Control deadlines also matter.

Changes during racing

Broken equipment and authorised pit boxes permit specified exchanges. Ski changes are made off the track without help. Waxing is generally banned, with limited classical kick-zone exceptions.

Numbers refer to PDF viewer pages. Topic numbers are editorial. This guide combines the supplied FIS cross-country competition rules with the cross-country equipment specifications. It covers snow racing, not ski jumping, Nordic combined or roller skiing.
