Which elements count
On bars, beam and floor, up to 8 difficulty elements count, including the dismount. Technical recognition matters: an attempted skill can receive a lower value or no value.
Balance within the routine
Beam and floor require at least 3 dance and 3 acrobatic elements within the counting set. Repeating an element generally does not earn its difficulty again.
Independent explanations and translations, not official federation publications. Women's artistic gymnastics comprises vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor. The all-around total combines the scores from all 4 apparatus. Qualification, team, all-around and apparatus finals serve different purposes. These explanations follow the supplied FIG code; national and developmental competitions may use adapted rules.
