Different competition demands
Team and all-around scoring use 1 vault. To qualify for the vault final and in that final, 2 vaults from different groups are required; their scores are averaged.
Validity and bonus
No hand support, missing the required round-off safety collar, assistance or failure to land feet first can invalidate a vault. Two fall-free vaults with opposite salto directions in second flight earn 0.20 bonus.
Independent explanations and translations, not official federation publications. Women's artistic gymnastics comprises vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor. The all-around total combines the scores from all 4 apparatus. Qualification, team, all-around and apparatus finals serve different purposes. These explanations follow the supplied FIG code; national and developmental competitions may use adapted rules.
