Allround and sprint points

ISU · 2026
In short

In an allround or sprint combination, times are converted to a common distance basis and added. A shorter time produces fewer points, so the lowest total wins. The conversion divides each time by the relevant distance factor; it is not a system that awards more points for winning an individual race. Times are scaled to 500m: divide a 1000m time in seconds by 2.

In practice

The calculation keeps the prescribed decimal precision by truncating, rather than rounding upward. Competitors must complete the required earlier distances with valid results to remain eligible for the final distance at championships. Equal total points give equal ranks. If access to the final distance is limited, non-qualifiers are classified using their preceding races. Keep 3 decimal places, discarding further digits.
