Investigations and reporting
FIA · 2026 · Issue 03In short
How suspected breaches are examined.
Opening an inquiry
The FIA may investigate actual or suspected non-compliance and request information, interviews or access under the specified procedures. A team’s formal complaint needs supporting evidence and prescribed formalities. Stewards’ investigations and anti-doping inquiries follow their own procedures.
Response and reporting
The investigation subject receives written notification and, before further action under the general process, an opportunity to respond. The ethics and compliance hotline accepts confidential reports. Teams must not obstruct good-faith disclosures or retaliate against people providing evidence.
