The rule

Call the complete score before serving, then serve within 10 seconds. Standard singles calls server score then receiver score; standard doubles adds the server number as the third number.

In practice

A valid not-ready signal must precede the start of the score call. A challenge to an incorrect score must stop play before the return of serve and before the ball becomes dead; an incorrect or late challenge can be a fault.
