Changing ends
BWF · 2025 · v5.0 (2)In short
When to swap court ends and how to correct a missed change.
Scheduled changes
Players change ends after the opening game and after the second game if a deciding game is needed. In the deciding game, they change when either side first reaches 11 points. The document excludes handicap matches from this last provision and refers to separate regulations for that format.
Correcting a missed change
If players forget to change ends, correct the mistake as soon as it is discovered and the shuttle is out of play. Keep the existing score: earlier rallies are not cancelled or replayed just because the change was missed. The correction concerns the ends occupied by the players.
