Court, equipment and service

Use the applicable court diagram for the wheelchair or standing class; half-court singles does not apply to every standing class. A wheelchair or crutch counts as part of the player when the shuttle touches it. Feet must be fixed to the wheelchair footrest. Service rules include stationary wheels, subject to the server’s natural counter-movement, and class-specific adaptations.

Special faults and interruptions

In wheelchair play, the shuttle must be below the server’s armpit at contact; referenced alternative service laws require separate consultation. Losing foot fixation, touching the floor with the feet during play, or having no trunk contact with the seat when hitting are faults. Net catches that normally produce a let after the return are faults. Equipment repairs may justify suspension; an additional supervised catheterisation interval may be allowed.
