Equipment compliance
BWF · 2025 · v5.0 (2)In short
BWF decisions and additional Para badminton equipment.
Who decides compliance?
BWF decides whether rackets, shuttles, other equipment and prototypes meet the specifications. It may act on its own initiative or following a request from someone with a genuine interest, such as a player, technical official, manufacturer or Member Association. This procedure determines conformity; it does not let individual players waive equipment requirements.
Para badminton equipment
Para badminton permits a wheelchair or crutch. An elastic belt may secure the player’s body to the wheelchair, and supporting wheels may extend beyond its main wheel. The feet must be secured to the footrest. These are additional Para badminton provisions; they are not a general equipment option for every category.
