Lets
BWF · 2025 · v5.0 (2)In short
A let cancels the rally and the same server serves again.
When play is stopped
A let applies when service is delivered before the receiver is ready, both server and receiver are faulted during service, or the shuttle’s base completely separates during play. It can also apply to unforeseen events, coaching disruption judged by the umpire, or an unsighted line judge when neither the umpire nor review system can decide.
Net catches and restarting
After the service has been returned, a shuttle resting on top of the net, or caught in it after crossing, normally produces a let. In wheelchair badminton these situations are faults instead. With a let, play since the last service does not count and the player who served last serves again.
