Personnel and curfews

FIA · 2026 · Issue 09
In short

Operational staffing and restricted periods limit work at the circuit.

On this pageWho countsRestricted periods

Who counts

Circuit access requires the appropriate personal pass. Operational personnel are capped during a defined event window, with an exception around the race start. Drivers and staff working solely in specified non-operational roles are excluded. Trainees have limited additional allowances, and teams must declare the required personnel lists to the FIA.

Restricted periods

Operational staff and trainees must stay away during prescribed restricted periods, subject to limited exceptions. Narrow access windows for meals, exercise or congestion relief do not permit operational work. Annual exceptions cannot be used consecutively at one event. Breaching the provision can require both drivers to start the race from the pit lane.
