Giant slalom normally uses two runs, with the gates reset for the second. Youth exceptions exist; the general adult format should not be applied automatically to every category.

Course

Gates are 4–8 m wide, with at least 10 m between successive turning poles. The course combines turns of different lengths and uses the terrain.
