Fixed intervals

For a fixed-interval start, the valid window extends 5 seconds before to 5 seconds after the official time. Outside assistance and pushing on start posts are prohibited.

Slalom signal

Slalom uses irregular intervals. After the starter's command, the competitor must start within about 10 seconds; a late arrival requires the start referee's decision.
