The ball

Size, weight, material and colour.
Dimensions and mass
The ball must be spherical, with a diameter of 40 mm and a mass of 2.7 g. These are the basic specifications in the Laws; a ball used for practice is not automatically suitable for an official competition.
Material and appearance
The Laws specify plastic material and a matt finish. The ball may be white or orange. The competition regulations separately govern approved equipment and the organiser’s choice. Specific competition procedures govern choosing the match ball.
