Surface and size

The playing surface is the horizontal top, excluding the vertical sides. It measures 2.74 m by 1.525 m and stands 76 cm above the floor. A standard ball dropped from 30 cm should rebound uniformly about 23 cm.

Boundary and centre lines

The surface is dark and matt, with white boundary lines 2 cm wide. For doubles, a white centre line 3 mm wide divides each court into equal half-courts. That line belongs to the right half-court, so a serve touching it can be correctly placed.
