Small services and team assistance

Riders may lend or exchange food, drinks, tools and small accessories. Lending or exchanging bicycles or tubular tyres, and waiting for a dropped rider or a rider involved in an accident, are permitted only between teammates under the road-race rule.

No pushing

A rider must never push another rider; the road-race provision specifies disqualification. On a finishing circuit, otherwise permitted help can only be given between riders who have covered the same distance. Teamwork does not override the safety or assistance restrictions.
