Racing against the clock

Riders start separately at scheduled intervals and from a stationary position, without a push. Riders must present themselves with their equipment at the check area at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start, and must pass the final check before being allowed to start. A late rider's time runs from the scheduled start, not simply from when that rider arrives.

No drafting behind another rider

Riders may not help one another or use the slipstream of a rider who catches them. When overtaking, leave at least 2 metres laterally; after 1 km the caught rider must be at least 25 metres behind. The following vehicle must also stay at least 25 metres behind its rider.
