Who may help?

Technical support comes from the team's technical personnel, neutral support vehicles or the broom wagon. A bicycle abandoned after a change must be recovered. At fixed roadside locations assistance is limited to wheel changes, except that authorised zones in circuit races may allow bicycle changes.

Stop for repairs

Mechanical help and checks must normally take place behind the rider's group, stationary at the side of the road used by traffic. Lubricating a chain from a moving vehicle is forbidden. After a crash, commissaires decide how to apply the assistance provision to the circumstances.
