Building a varied exercise
Element-group requirements reward variety. A D-or-harder element earns 0.5 for its group; an A, B or C earns 0.3. Group I is an exception: any credited difficulty earns 0.5.
Finishing the routine
Except on floor, the dismount group value equals the dismount’s difficulty value. Eligible stuck landings can earn 0.1; the rules exclude pommel horse and set minimum difficulty conditions.

It concerns artistic gymnastics; women’s artistic gymnastics has a separate code and different apparatus requirements. The all-around combines scores from floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar. Team formats and qualification places are governed by the competition’s technical regulations.
