Discipline and serious misconduct

Players must make their best effort and avoid abuse, aggression and unsporting conduct. The disciplinary sequence is warning, point loss, then disqualification. Coaches receive a warning and then expulsion. Relevant coaching violations accumulate with those of the pair. Serious aggression can bring immediate disqualification.

Time violations

Time violations have a separate sequence: first a warning; on repetition, the serving pair loses its first serve, while the receiving pair loses a point. Further violations cost successive points as determined by the referee. Serious repeated delays may lead to additional sanctions, including disqualification.
