Padel / Rule 09

Service let

FIP · 2026
In short

When a serve is repeated and which attempt remains.

Net contact

A serve touching the net or supporting posts is repeated if it lands in the correct service box without touching the metal fence before its second bounce. A net-touching serve that then hits a player or something worn or carried also qualifies under the rule.

Repeat the correct attempt

A serve made before the receiver is ready is a let. A let on the first serve restores both service attempts; on the second serve it repeats only that attempt. Merely touching the net does not rescue a serve that otherwise lands outside the correct box.
