Gloves and headguards

Approved gloves correspond to the boxer’s red or blue corner and weigh 10 oz or 12 oz according to the category. All U17 and U19 boxers and Elite women wear headguards; Elite men do not. Hand protection must match the event requirements and may not contain prohibited substances or materials.

Other equipment

All boxers wear a fitted mouthguard. Men must wear a groin protector; women may wear one. Clothing must identify the beltline, and footwear must have no spikes or heels. Jewellery and hard contact lenses are prohibited. Soft contact lenses are allowed, but refusing to continue after losing one means retirement.
