Making weight

Boxers must make weight on the day they box and have only 1 opportunity on the official scales. The official weight is measured naked or in underwear. Exceeding the category maximum gives the scheduled opponent a walkover; at the first weigh-in, the boxer must also exceed the category minimum.

Timing and checks

At least 3 hours must separate the end of the daily weigh-in from the first bout of the day. Calibrated electronic scales are used, with test scales available beforehand. The category established at entry checks and the draw remains the category for the competition.
