Illegal blows and holding

Fouls include low blows, headbutts, elbow or shoulder strikes, open-glove punches and blows to the back of the head or body. Holding, holding while hitting, wrestling, tripping, kicking, biting and pushing are also prohibited. Attacking a boxer who is down or rising is forbidden.

Unfair conduct

It is illegal to attack while holding the ropes, strike before stepping back after “Break”, deliberately spit out the mouthguard, or behave aggressively towards the referee. Deliberately falling, turning the back or using completely passive defence to avoid boxing is also prohibited. Penalties depend on the seriousness and circumstances.
