Scoring and points decisions

The 10-point must system
Each of the 5 judges scores independently. A round winner receives 10 points; the loser receives 9, 8 or 7. A close round is 10–9, a clear win 10–8 and total dominance 10–7. No round is drawn. A knockdown does not automatically make a round 10–8.
Choosing the winner
Judges consider scoring blows first, then technical and tactical superiority, then competitiveness. Simply moving forward is not enough. The bout is decided from the judges’ totals, including deductions: agreement by all judges is unanimous, otherwise a qualifying majority gives a split decision. Tied scorecards require a winner selection in the situations specified by the rules.
