The rule

WSF recommends suitable protective eyewear during all play and warm-ups. It is mandatory in WSF-sanctioned junior and doubles events; that statement does not make it universally mandatory for adult singles.

In practice

Coaching is permitted only between games, not during rallies or other mid-game interruptions. Approved player-analysis equipment may record or store data, but players may not retrieve that information during the match. Equipment still has to comply with the technical specifications.
