When a run can be repeated

A rider who starts and then stops does not automatically receive another attempt. If hindered during a run, the rider must stop immediately, raise a hand and signal an official to request a rerun. The jury may permit a provisional rerun and decides its validity. A false start does not entitle the rider to a rerun.

Numbers refer to PDF viewer pages. Topic numbers are editorial. Snowboarding includes timed gate races, snowboard cross and judged park-and-pipe events. Slalom and giant slalom reward fast, correct runs; parallel events add direct duels. Snowboard cross combines terrain features with racing in groups. Halfpipe, slopestyle, big air and street style use judging rather than simply the fastest time.
