Clothing and court safety

Players must keep nails short and remove ornaments. Shirts need clear identifying numbers. Shoes are compulsory on a synthetic surface; the source also specifies suitable mat construction and cushioning.

Slippery substances

Oil and other sticky or slippery substances are prohibited. Officials require removal and award a technical point; repetition also brings a yellow card and a 2-minute suspension.

Independent explanations and translations, not official federation publications. This guide explains standard team kabaddi using the supplied IKF rules. Teams alternate attacking raids and defensive tackles; it does not automatically apply the additional regulations of a professional league. A raider enters the opposing half, tries to touch defenders and returns safely while maintaining the prescribed chant. Defenders try to prevent that return without using prohibited holds.
