Substitution opportunities
A team may use up to 5 substitution opportunities, with eligible players entering through the referee's procedure. Re-entry is possible. An out, suspended or disqualified player cannot simply be replaced; special injury provisions require the referee's decision.
Time-outs
Each team has 2 time-outs per half, lasting 30 seconds each. The officials account for this time in the match duration. Official stoppages for injury or other necessary reasons are distinct from team time-outs.
Independent explanations and translations, not official federation publications. This guide explains standard team kabaddi using the supplied IKF rules. Teams alternate attacking raids and defensive tackles; it does not automatically apply the additional regulations of a professional league. A raider enters the opposing half, tries to touch defenders and returns safely while maintaining the prescribed chant. Defenders try to prevent that return without using prohibited holds.
