Legal defence

Defenders may hold the raider to prevent a safe return. A touch includes contact with the body, clothing or shoes. Losing the chant or failing to return within the raid limit can put the raider out.

Dangerous actions and super catch

Blocking the mouth, violent tackles, scissoring and deliberate holds above the shoulders are prohibited. The source calls a catch or raider-out with 3 or fewer defenders a “super catch”; this guide does not add an unspecified extra-point reward.

Independent explanations and translations, not official federation publications. This guide explains standard team kabaddi using the supplied IKF rules. Teams alternate attacking raids and defensive tackles; it does not automatically apply the additional regulations of a professional league. A raider enters the opposing half, tries to touch defenders and returns safely while maintaining the prescribed chant. Defenders try to prevent that return without using prohibited holds.
