Players and squads

Each team has 7 players on court. The source distinguishes a 10–12-player playing team from international squads of 10–14; the event's match-list requirements therefore matter.

Playing time

Men and junior boys play 2 halves of 20 minutes; the other listed categories play 2 halves of 15 minutes. Half-time lasts 5 minutes. The final raid may finish after time expires.

Independent explanations and translations, not official federation publications. This guide explains standard team kabaddi using the supplied IKF rules. Teams alternate attacking raids and defensive tackles; it does not automatically apply the additional regulations of a professional league. A raider enters the opposing half, tries to touch defenders and returns safely while maintaining the prescribed chant. Defenders try to prevent that return without using prohibited holds.
