Grand Prix scoring
The first 15 classified riders score 25, 20, 16, 13, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 points respectively. Interrupted races have separate points conditions.
Equal championship totals
All races count. Championship ties are resolved using Grand Prix wins, then subsequent placings; MotoGP Sprint results are excluded from this tie-break. If still equal, priority goes to the latest relevant achievement.
Independent explanations and translations, not official federation publications. This guide covers MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 under the supplied FIM Grand Prix regulations, updated 2026-09-13. Other motorcycle championships have different rules. Race procedures, rider conduct and motorcycle specifications work together. Class-specific exceptions matter: a MotoGP rule does not automatically apply to Moto2 or Moto3.
