MotoGP route
The fastest 10 riders in Practice enter Q2 directly. The fastest 2 in Q1 join them, producing the leading 12 grid positions.
Moto2 and Moto3 route
In Moto2 and Moto3, the fastest 14 in Practice reach Q2; 4 advance from Q1. Race qualification normally requires a lap within 105% of the fastest time in an eligible practice session.

Other motorcycle championships have different rules. Race procedures, rider conduct and motorcycle specifications work together. Class-specific exceptions matter: a MotoGP rule does not automatically apply to Moto2 or Moto3.
