Track information

Green means the track is clear. Red-and-yellow stripes warn of reduced grip unrelated to rain; a white flag with diagonal red cross indicates rain. Blue warns of faster traffic, with specific duties when being lapped.

Stop instructions

Red interrupts the session: slow down and return to the pits. A numbered black flag orders that rider into the pits; black with an orange disc requires immediately leaving the track for a dangerous mechanical problem.

Independent explanations and translations, not official federation publications. This guide covers MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 under the supplied FIM Grand Prix regulations, updated 2026-09-13. Other motorcycle championships have different rules. Race procedures, rider conduct and motorcycle specifications work together. Class-specific exceptions matter: a MotoGP rule does not automatically apply to Moto2 or Moto3.
