Classification

A finisher must complete 75% of the distance and cross the finish line on track within 5 minutes of the winner, subject to interrupted-race exceptions. Results reflect laps completed and finishing order.

Close finishes

A photo finish uses the leading edge of the front wheel. If rider and motorcycle are separated, the later of their first crossings determines the finish time. The leading finishers proceed to parc fermé and the podium.

Independent explanations and translations, not official federation publications. This guide covers MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 under the supplied FIM Grand Prix regulations, updated 2026-09-13. Other motorcycle championships have different rules. Race procedures, rider conduct and motorcycle specifications work together. Class-specific exceptions matter: a MotoGP rule does not automatically apply to Moto2 or Moto3.
