Speed and routes

The standard pit-lane limit is 60 km/h; a lower limit may be set for a narrow pit lane. Riders must follow the designated entry and exit routes.

Race restrictions

Speeding in the race normally brings a double Long Lap penalty, with other sanctions possible. Adding or removing fuel after the race has started is prohibited and leads to disqualification.

Independent explanations and translations, not official federation publications. This guide covers MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 under the supplied FIM Grand Prix regulations, updated 2026-09-13. Other motorcycle championships have different rules. Race procedures, rider conduct and motorcycle specifications work together. Class-specific exceptions matter: a MotoGP rule does not automatically apply to Moto2 or Moto3.
