MotoGP approval
Engine specifications and seasonal allocations are controlled. Manufacturer concession rankings affect permitted engines, testing and development, so one universal engine allowance would be misleading.
Seals and approved parts
Moto2 engines remain supplier-controlled and sealed. Moto3 uses approved engines and parts. Teams cannot treat the machinery as unrestricted: changes must comply with the applicable class and approval conditions.
Independent explanations and translations, not official federation publications. This guide covers MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 under the supplied FIM Grand Prix regulations, updated 2026-09-13. Other motorcycle championships have different rules. Race procedures, rider conduct and motorcycle specifications work together. Class-specific exceptions matter: a MotoGP rule does not automatically apply to Moto2 or Moto3.
