Distance and grid

The Sprint belongs to MotoGP and is approximately 50% of the Grand Prix race distance. Qualifying sets the grid for both races; the Sprint result does not set the Grand Prix grid.

Sprint points

The leading 9 finishers score 12, 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 points respectively. These contribute to the championship.

Independent explanations and translations, not official federation publications. This guide covers MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 under the supplied FIM Grand Prix regulations, updated 2026-09-13. Other motorcycle championships have different rules. Race procedures, rider conduct and motorcycle specifications work together. Class-specific exceptions matter: a MotoGP rule does not automatically apply to Moto2 or Moto3.
