Team responsibility
Presenting a motorcycle declares its compliance, but the team remains responsible for preparation and safety. Scrutineers record the machine and check matters such as weight, noise, dimensions and engine capacity.
Checks throughout the event
Technical checks are not confined to the first inspection. Officials can require further examination; Moto2 and Moto3 riders attend the initial combined rider-and-equipment weight check.
Independent explanations and translations, not official federation publications. This guide covers MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 under the supplied FIM Grand Prix regulations, updated 2026-09-13. Other motorcycle championships have different rules. Race procedures, rider conduct and motorcycle specifications work together. Class-specific exceptions matter: a MotoGP rule does not automatically apply to Moto2 or Moto3.
