Inside the crease

Standing in the crease does not automatically cancel a goal. The key is whether an attacker impairs the goalkeeper’s movement or defence through position or relevant contact. Significant screening inside the crease can invalidate a goal.

Outside the crease

The goalkeeper remains protected outside the crease. Incidental contact may be acceptable when the attacker reasonably tries to avoid it; deliberate contact is penalized. Being pushed by a defender is assessed with the attacker’s avoidance effort.
