Team designs and supplied parts

Listed Team Components require the team’s own concept design and exclusive rights under the permitted outsourcing rules. Reverse engineering through specified scanning or image-to-geometry methods is prohibited. Standard Supply Components come from the appointed supplier and generally cannot be modified. Transferable and Free Supply Components may be supplied under defined conditions, with limits on shared information.

Open designs and defined specifications

Open Source Components share design specifications through the designated FIA server, but this is not unrestricted performance-data sharing. The non-transferable open-source category does not permit supplying parts between teams. Defined Specification Components follow an FIA specification and approval process. The classification table determines the category of an assembly and, unless otherwise stated, its constituent parts.

Read each section for its stated season. Future changes are identified separately. Independent condensed explanations; the supplied PDFs remain the source.
